Success Overwintering Strawberry Towers

I'm interested in making a strawberry tower probably with a cylinder of wire mesh. I'd probably make them at least 6" in diameter and 4' tall.

I've searched around quite a bit but was not able to find a success story for overwintering something like this. Has anyone had experience in keeping the strawberry towers alive over the winter and what was your winterizing technique? (bring in garage, cover with straw/burlap, etc.)

strawberries are pretty tough handle frost, snow not sure.pull them out over wintger cut all the leaves off root prune then replant in fast draining soil, i.e 5.1.1 mix feed and water well :)
