| Looks like a mix of some type of fly and green aphids. The poop is most likely some type of Caterpillar. I use a homemade insecticidal soup that seems to have worked well against aphids and flys. (I added the link for the recipe for the insecticidal soap to this post) The plants look healthy though. I wouldn't worry too much.

| In lieu of the soap spray, you can wash off the leaves and stems with your hose. The aphids get knocked to the ground and can't get back up on your plant. |

| Thanks for that link! I put up a trellis for the little guy tonight and tried to stretch him up it a little. He's not very happy with me right now but hopefully when the sun comes up he'll see that I did it for his own good and forgive me. :) Am I the only one whose plants have personalities? I think I need to get out more often! I'm going to just hose off the big one for now and keep an eye on it but I'll definitely try the soap if it gets any worse. Beetles munched my strawberry leaves almost to death and by the time I caught on, it was too late which is why I got a little nervous. I saw a few ladybugs yesterday and they usually swarm here in the fall so I'm hoping they'll help me deal with the aphids! |
