I think you are going to like how it turns out.

I moved a three-foot bay laurel tree from potting soil to the gritty mix two years ago and it has thrived. I had to trim it in the fall to get it through the door.

It was one of the first plants I root pruned, so you know it wasn't skill or experience that led to success--I just followed the directions on this site. Cut off the bottom quarter of roots, opened up the sides, took out some bigger roots under the trunk, and rinsed the dirt off.
