Don't worry about it - it won't hurt a thing. Those are just transport roots (they only move water, nutrients to the leaves and food from the leaves to roots). They're not actively involved in water or nutrients uptake - at least not to the degree they would be missed if that function was compromised.

Fantastic, thank you so much, do you know if it would harm them at add 2-3 inches of soil ontop of the existing soil? When i planted them they settled low into the container leaving about 3-4 inches from the soil to the top of the container. I wouldn't want to harm the plants if that would but if it wouldn't hurt it that would be great since they could hold more water in the soil and wouldn't have to water as often.

Why not add it at the bottom? Lift the plant from the container, put whatever amount of soil you need on the bottom of the pot, then fill the sides in with fresh soil as well, if required. BTW - having to water often is a + for your plants, even if an inconvenient - for you.
