| Hi, I would like to grow a bonsai tree of some type under lights indoors. Does anyone have any suggestions for a species that would do well under artificial lighting?
Thanks. |

| Almost all tropical species that don't require inordinately high humidity levels to be happy can be successfully grown under lights. I probably grow about 75 plants under lights that cover at least 25 different species - maybe 30. Ficus are good choices, schefflera does well, Eugenia, Portulacaria, rosemary, yaupon holly, Cistus, Leptospermum, Nashia, Malpighia, Carissa, Loropetalum, are just a few that will do well under good light. | How much light would be needed? A couple small fluorescents? Or are we talking hids etc... ? Thanks :) |
