I am a novice gardener and I would like some thoughts on trying to grow Burpee Super Sugar Snap Peas in containers. Here is my setup, which failed to result in germinated peas, but was successful for germinating okra, summer squash, and pumpkin.

Seeds: no treatment other than direct sow
Container: 5 gallon bucket
Sun exposure: 6-8 hours full per day
Soil: 40% top soil (from a bag), 40% sphagnum peat, 20% Black Kow (compost/maure)
Water: when dry if not by rain

I waited two weeks (the max recommended on the package) for germination and no success.
