| Will water Friday morning, not returning until Monday evening.
Need creative suggestions for a temporary setup to keep my plants hydrated...especially tomatoes. Is there any one type of mulch that would do it? |

| Where are you, and what's the forecast? Any chance of rain? What medium are they potted in? At this time of year here, I stop watering my in ground tomatoes unless it's extraordinarily hot and dry. I'd be cutting back on watering container tomatoes now if I had any. So maybe it won't be a problem? Too many unknowns to be sure. |

| NYC area...eastern exposure, chance of showers. I have an overhang though. Container's medium is 50/50 pro-mix and pine fines. Heirlooms are just ripening now. I am going to see if I can get the terra-cotta spikes locally. Read that they worked for some. |

| Either a timer, or move them to the shade to conserve moisture. Joe |

| I bet they'll be fine. With a thorough watering before you leave and an overcast day or two, they should weather it. I would probably only worry if it were predicted to be very hot and dry. If your weather is like ours lately, the evenings cool down nicely. Have fun! |
