Coreopsis in pot...advice for over-wintering

Acquired Coreopsis (creme brulee) perennial for roof garden this season and would like to see if I can get it to survive the winter so we can enjoy it again next season. I assume it needs to overwinter cold and should not be stored in a warm environment - but not so cold as to damage/kill the plant. Can anyone recommend how best to do that? I am attaching a photo of the 22 in. faux limestone pot it is in (supposedly designed to be "weather-resistant"). I also assume it should be watered during the over-wintering period, but perhaps that's incorrect. Many thanks for any advice you're able to offer.
