I've had bad luck with planting colchiums in the ground, so I put a few into large containers. I've also planted some lycoris and amaryllis belladonna in seperate containers. The colc. are showing a few growing tips - I planted them shallow, as well as the other mentioned bulbs. So far the others haven't done much exept one amaryllis has grown a bit of mildewy material on the neck - I will probably discard that one.

Anyways, if anyone has planted these or similar bulbs before in a zone close to mine, I'd like to know how it worked out for them. Winter gets cold and wet here, and I will have to protect these containers to avoid rot, but it's plenty warm and dry now.
