What size container?

I like a really free-draining mix for the gloomy winter months.

If not peat, what is the medium comprised of? I can't see enough of the label to know which of the many Scotts products this might be. From that little bit I can see in the bag, it looks like it is all organic matter of some kind. Maybe coir?

My apologies for the delay. Here's a closer look at the bag:

...and here's a peek at the actual mix. And of course it has organic matter, but it seems to be mostly in the form of chunks of twigs and bark, but no peat. Like I said in the first post, it drains very well. Hope this helps. I potted 10 chile plants for the winter in it last night, I hope it works. :-)

Yea I am so happy with the new green bag hyponex!!!

8 bucks for 2 cuft!! Great soil there.

I'd amend it with at least 20 percent rinsed Perlite, and I'd pick out as much sapwood as possible.
It certainly looks better than I was expecting.

What size containers are you using?

Josh I guess those are 1 gallon on the left (hab & 2 hot lemons) and tad smaller for all the others.

Also, I gave them all a good soaking after potting them in order to settle the medium in around the roots; I guess that's the way you're supposed to do it, right?

Heheh, in the pic above notice the handy dandy little ID stakes in the pots; when I dug the plants from the garden it surprised me to find these still there, I had forgotten that I had included them when I planted this Spring.
