| I am just getting started and trying to understand the thousands of threads related to Al's soil mix. For raspberries and blackberries (erect thornless) which mix is better and how long will the mix last in a 18" pot (or should i use a bigger/smaller pot)
What about for either a peach, apple, or plum tree in a container, 5-1-1, or gritty? Any special tweaks to the "recipe" for either? |

| For the brambles, I'd use the 5:1:1 mix - and the gritty mix for the trees. No tweaking should be required. I think you'll find your concern for 'how long the mix will last' will be outweighed by how congested the roots are. You'll probably need to divide & repot before either soil has outlived its serviceable life. Al |
