Start of a Container Garden Please Help

Greetings.

I hope someone can help me with this.
I ran across the idea of using Galvanized Water Tanks. I found some at a local tractor supply store and want to purchase a 100 gallon tank.

Does anyone know whether a tank this size be adaquate to normal tomato plants? I would like to grow tomatoes NOT designed to grow in containers and probably about two of them.

I would be concerned it would get way too hot in TX. Do you know anyone in your area using these for plants?
