Not sure why admin moved this, guess they felt it off topic. I know there has been alot of discussion about the weather here lately. Just thought I'd share this since it has been an interest to many here. Maybe I should have titled it "How Will Climate (Fears) Affect Your Garden?" or "Garden Plans of the Future"? ps. I am not endorsing the program nor am I related to or employed by Glenn Beck. Just another interested gardener.

I caught part of Beck last nite. Used to listen to him when he was on a local radio station a few years ago. He can be funny but I stopped listening to him when it finally dawned on me that he's not acting like a jerk but is truly a real jerk. Some of his GWing points were valid though as I feel that nothing will stop the human race from pumping the last drop of oil and digging up the last clump of coal for energy use. Money is more important and those who are in power will always think that they will have an escape plan to a more livable part of the planet and really don't give a hoot about the rest of us. So enjoy your local climate whist it lasts and hope for the best, esp you young folks out there.

I have read where the sun is perhaps largely responsible for warming as it is in a hot phase. I think that Mars is having some warming too. Anyway we probably are have a double measure of heating with added co2 also.

Here's the thing with all this so-called "anti-hype": Would you really want there to be 'nothing we can do' about global warming? Do you really hope that we are at the mercy of the sun and there's nothing we can do but continue to drive SUVs and hope that increased drought/storm activity/etc doesn't affect us that much? Human behaviour, especially in the USA, has got to change - whether it is directly affecting climate change or not.
