I really did get the house next door. I did it to protect my families privacy, since it's only ten feet away from my bedroom window and (on top of) and just up the mountain from my current property. The delapadated property is ready to fold and chuck full of redwood bead-board, white mahoghany, and texas fir flooring (all over a 100 yrs old), thats in good shape and I need to buy time till I've got the money to dismantle in stead of destroying it or allowing it to destroying itself. Anybody got some shoring tech for mountain sides?? I might have 3 months, I'd like to put it off till april, Any opinion welcome.. oh yea,,, opposing mountain is at 35* east to west, house slopes at 10 to 12* north into the mountain, (ouch), and please,,, don't refer to italian insurance. I don't have it... darlene

Just as pitifull as the day I bought it!! Though I've got it ear-marked for de-construction in april,, Man!!! that thing is really creakin' in this 45 knot wind!! But,, did get the retaining wall removed, (a nine footer) and have begun to replace it with 2 5 foot terraces,, much better and more planting room. The next big job is the garage,,, a real boy's club complete with a place to change oil without crawling in the gravel and a couple of beer taps for the home-brew, a solar cooling unit, trans-somes for heat escape, and a 10,000 gal water re-claimation system for starters.. That oughta keep me busy for at least a year. The tool storage is up to the huby mon. Pictures?? If I could figure out how to gift you with such a thing ,, I will do it, but dog-gone it,, I'll try, give me a moment. darlene

Here it is... March, and the wall is coming along beautifully. The 1st terrace is complete and have started to re-build soil for a summer garden even if I have to till it in and expect nothing .. The 2nd terrace is due for completion in April, then comes the garage plans which include a 12-15ooo gal run-off storage water system to be used for flushing, showers, dishwashing and garden usage. I don't know about you, but our city water problems will only cause the rates to sky-rocket and for me,, re-claimation is the only answer in the desert south-west
