disillusioned veggie gardeners?

Hi, all--I write about gardening for a major national news organization and am working on a story about how to really organize a great veggie garden. I'm looking for folks who, in the heat of the grow-your-own-food trend, attempted their first veg plot and were disappointed. Maybe it was that not enough food came out of it (i.e. "i planted all that spinach and this is all i get?"). Or maybe certain crops didnt work out as hoped, or the timing of how they were planted was off. Or maybe the whole durn thing was just too much work.
Does any of this ring a bell?
Hope to hear from you!
Anne Marie

I hope you found someone to chat with. The discussions side is better- this side is for photos.

I do hope that the story your running shows how to properly organize a garden and doesn't just dissuade people from keeping their garden going. There have been one too many stories like that lately for my liking. Everyone's got something to say about this trend, but I like to be encouraging always.
