Time for our first seed exchange of the year!

Next Saturday is our first West Sonoma County Seed Exchange of the year! I'm very excited! I'm planning to finally starting almost everything from seed this year since I retired (and need stuff to do!)
This is a pretty cool seed exchange because all seed comes from fruit/veges grown here in Sonoma Co.. People usually give a great description of the plant including interesting flavors, growing conditions etc. They have a pretty large garden and ask that you help out (or not) and usually have an hour class on something like seed saving after the exchange. They also ask you to save some seed for next year!
I read that a few libraries in some of the smaller towns around are starting up seed libraries. Same thing, all free.
I've been chomping at the bit cause our winter has been so warm and dry! It feels like spring! But we're still getting frost almost every morning.
At least starting from seed will give me something to do!
Nancy

Very cool! I also decided to start everything from seed this year. I didn't hear about any seed exchanges in my area, but I had an Amazon gift card, and another gift card to a local nursery and I bought all of me seeds.
Yesterday I ordered a very fancy grow light system from Gardener's supply, and am anxiously awaiting its arrival.
I only work part-time, so I had the same thought as you, Nancy--it'll give me something to do.
