Have been looking for this for several years but never seem to find a source for those. If anyone here knows, please share.

Thanks in advance!

Check sources for crimson "broad beans" rather than crimson "favas"...it's an unnecessary yet prevalent term for them.

It's a pretty plant. Good luck.

The linked package is what I grew a few years back. It was the only year a specialty nursery in our area carried Thompson and Morgan seed packs. T&M is a British seller but has a US website, also. But I'm not finding any favas on their US site now and the amazon link below shows unavailable, too. So I guess this isn't really of much help for now unless you were to order from the British site: http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetables/vegetable-seeds/pea-and-bean-seeds/broad-bean-crimson-flowered/4772TM

I do remember that the flowers were not as large or visible as the white flowers on other favas I grew. I was a bit disappointed that the plant wasn't more dramatic when in flower.

I think that broad beans is the commonly used name for favas in England.

Unnecessary? A touch of vegetable hegemony there nc-crn. That's simply what they are called in the UK and several other English-speaking countries. If you asked for favas here no one would know what you were talking about. But we grow and eat a lot of broad beans.

Thanks! Alas, the TM seeds for those are only available to British custoners. Their American arm, TMseeds, does not carry the seed.

There is a Candian seed company that carry this as well, but they don't ship outside of Canada.

Ack!

Fair enough. It's just something I've run into with someone else. I didn't realize it was more common of a name in other countries.

Hi again, nc-crn - it's not just 'more common' it's the only name we use. We grow a lot as they suit our damp, cool climate.

How do you feel about aubergines, marrows and courgettes? ;-)

"How do you feel about aubergines, marrows and courgettes?"

Native Australians are pretty cool.

I'm not a fan of bone guts.

They're cute little dogs.

It's out of stock currently, but you could try again next year: http://sustainableseedco.com/heirloom-vegetable-seeds/a-ca/bean-heirloom-seeds/misc.-beans/crimson-flowered-fava-bean-seed.html. Or you could take a field trip to Canada: http://www.heritageharvestseed.com/beansbroad.html

Good luck!
