I am totally confused about beets, are the tapes individual seed, or clusters? Thanks in advance Keith

The beet seeds are still the same clusters on the tape, just evenly and better spaced. You will still have to thin, just a bit less. Dave

One google search indicated some seed company is separating the clusters to individual seed, however I haven't been able to find any source for that. Also I read you can gently use a rolling pin to crush them apart, no luck at that for me either. Anyone have any experience, or thoughts? Thanks in advance, Keith

With beets the easiest thing to do is plant the seed, which is really a cluster of seeds like a berry and just pinch off or pull the extra couple that come up.
|
I don't find the thinning much trouble and the excess babies can go into a salad. But there are some monogerm varieties available which contain only one embryo. Google that term and you'll find several suppliers.

green mulberry , you are right, I'm planting a 40 foot row for my 85 year old dad. He doesn't bend like he used to, and honestly neither do I, lol .I'm looking for any edge I can get. Floral, I thank you so much, I have ordered some of them from your suggested search and hope to have some success at making some home made seed tape with them. Hopefully dad can have lots of greens I like the bottoms , lol .

Doing certain tasks is like eating some food that is in front of you: -- you can use you bare hands. -- You may use a fork. -- You can use a spoon. -- You can use chop sticks( if you know how to use them) The bottom line is the same.
