The link to the post comes back as unavailable. Anyone happened to save a copy of this pic? A friend doesn't believe there could be issues with leaving the netting on.

But there are plenty of testimonials in various gardening blogs and on seed starting websites about the pellets and the webbing problems if your friend wants to review them.

The newest version even comes with a zipper strip built into the netting so it can easily be stripped off.

I know this is late, but thank you all for your insight and difficulties in using the Jiffy pellets. I had never thought about removing the netting, but I should have.

I used Jiffy peat moss pellets for thr first time this year. Used shisito peppers and serpent cucumber. They all sprouted perfectly well. I transplanted them into the ground and I'd say more then 50% showed zero growth ans struggling growth after like 6 weeks . Impossible in perfect weather. I pulled the majority out of the ground and total root bound. That mesh is indestructible. A few roots fought their way out. But after 2 months. Barely a root system to be found and you know how quickly cucs grow. Bottom line. Never again....the ones I planted directly from seed no issues. So remove the mesh or use plastic cups for seeding. How this saves someone some time. 😁
