Chicken manure question

Well, I finally pulled all my pepper plants and plan on putting some onions there in about 2 weeks. Normally, I would add copious amounts of compost in between one veggie to the net in the same spot, but I'm all out of compost and I really don't feel the need to go get a yard of it until March.

So, my idea was to go get a couple bags of chicken manure(high N for the onions), till that in, wait a couple weeks in our mid 60's/70's (lows mid 40's) climate, and then plant my onion transplants.

Question: Do you think a couple weeks is long enough to give the manure a chance to "cool off" for a couple bags of commercial chicken manure?

Thanks.

Kevin
