Garden selfie

I was introduced today to farming selfies and found them charming. Folks took photos of themselves with their animals and they are posted at farmingselfies.com.

I thought it would be really great if we posted gardening selfies on this forum. I don't actually have one of me like that at the moment, but will work on getting one this spring and hope you will also.

That would enable us to meet the folks we're talking to online and see what their gardens are like. Hope you will like the idea as well. I'm going to try to post one of the farming selfies here so that you will get an idea of what they are like.

Love the picture (sorry, "selfie"). Fun idea!
Nancy, do you have a digital camera with an SD card? If so, I might be able to explain how to do this --my teenage daughters explained it to me, and it wasn't too hard to post a photo.
Before I post my any pics, however, I'll have to wait to have something growing,,,

nancyjane_gardener which part do you want to know how to do? What type of camera do you have, a phone or a digital one? If it's a phone, take the picture with your phone, plug it into the computer. I'd have to know what kind of phone you have to tell you how to import it. Once you have it saved on the computer, there is a browse button above the part where you type a post, and hit the browse button and go to where you put the image. It will add the photo to the post once you go and click on your image file.

OK, I've got a digital camera (don't know if I have the wires etc to connect to the computer) it's probably considered pretty old (5YO), an I Pad (which I mostly take my garden pics with) and a Galaxy 3 phone. Ive gotten pretty good at posting pics on facebook with my phone and Ipad.
Do I need to sign into photobucket or something like that? Nancy

For the digital camera, you'd most likely need a micro usb to USB cable. Chances are you would have gotten one with the camera, but maybe you lost it or it's in your house somewhere or it was a camera that didn't come with one. If you don't have one of those, they are only a few dollars. You could use photobucket if you have an account, but if you don't have an easy way to put the pictures on your computer directly from the iPad/camera/phone, you could email yourself.

If you have a Mac computer, plug the iPad in and go to iPhoto. You can go here for details instructions for an iPad or iPhone or iPod touch. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083

If you email yourself your photos, or put them on the computer, you can simply attach the photo here, or post a link to the photobucket photo.

For importing photos from your Galaxy phone, you can read these instructions. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportOwnersHowToGuidePopup.do?howto_guide_seq=7053&prd_ia_cd=N0000005&map_seq=48202

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Android phones like the galaxy typically have a way to automatically upload them somewhere. Maybe Google plus or drop box. You can also link from one of those to here.
