On my spaghetti squash plants there are 5 female blossoms forming. The two that should be next to bloom for pollination have started turning black on the blossom side (not the ovary) Does anyone know what is going on?

BER (Blossom End Rot). Check out the FAQ here all about it. Yes the small fruit in the last picture with the discolored blossom will abort/die/rot. Just nip it off now to reduce plant stress. Dave

they aren't getting polinated. you can hand poilinate with a clean artists brush, but most likely you plant will make more and those will be polinated. unless you've had a major insect die off in your area.

Dave, thanks for the info... I will go read up about it now. Veggiecanner, those ones turning black aren't even at the stage where they will bloom to get pollinated :( I have been hand pollinating from the beginning because I don't see many bees around my plants. My third photo is not showing so I am posting it again... Is this squash ruined? Looks likea bug or worm got into it?

No it may very well scab over. Looks more like some sort of injury rather than a pest. I'd just keep an eye on it to see if it spreads or seems to get infected. Dave

Thanks Dave!
