| you can buy saffron crocus bulbs from a lot places, anywhere that has a good selection of bulb flowers. I think they are usuall grown as an ornamental since each flower only produces 3 little threads of saffron which means you would need dozens of them for any respectable harvest (there is a reason its the worlds most expensive spice). |

| Thanks Zachs. Yes, I am aware ---that it is one of the most expensive spice, yield is low etc. I just want to know if any experts know reliable source to buy them--insight into their personal experience with online buying this plant. |

| Just make sure when you buy that you are purchasing Saffron Crocus, ie Crocus sativus, and not Meadow Saffron, often miscalled Autumn Crocus, ie Colchicum autumnale. A very different plant and very poisonous. The two are often confused in articles and even catalogues due to their misleading common names. |
