This is the season for lettuce around here. Mine are coming in real nice. I have a bad habit of losing track of what I planted as I have several types but I believe this one is Grandpa Admiral's from Baker Creek Seeds. I had it with diner tonight and it was lovely.

Very pretty! I'm sure it was tender and delicious. :)

Lovely! I planted lettuce seed out a couple of weeks ago - beautiful warm day - then it turned back into winter (29 degrees for several nights and a deluge of rain) and I fear the seeds won't germinate. I am waiting for consistent warmer days and nights to determine if I need to replant. Weird weather for South Carolina.

Nice looking lettuce. The outer margin is a bit scorched though.
|
I think that's the red blush.

My lettuce seeds germinated and now growing in cold frame. In Another week or so I will transplant them into 4" pots and eventually into the garden. Chards are emerging in cold frame too. Cold frame is dandy in early spring and late fall.
