Is there a need for a heating pad after germination?

Once my seeds have germinated, can I remove them from the heating pad?

I have them under lights in the basement near the furnace so it's not cool down there anyway.

Thanks!

Yes, you can remove them. Once they germinate, they prefer it a little bit cooler in my experience. At least, I have never noticed anything gained from keeping them on the mat, except it helps with not using so much dadgum electricity lol.

Just answered this question over on the Growing from Seed forum. Heat mats are for germination only. Once sprouts appear, remove from the heat to avoid damage to the seedlings.
