Turned over one of my raised beds much to the delight of my little red hens!!! They'll be heart broken when I plant tomatoes (in cages) & they can no longer scratch....... Now mind ya, it's not above them to peck a few fruits down the road!

Nice, they look happy. My group has a very different look today. They don't care for snow and just sit in the doorway looking disgusted at the white stuff on the ground. They don't sound like they are saying nice things about it either. I think by tomorrow they will able to go scratch up some dirt like your girls.

Thanks sunnibel! My girls crack me up when NE Kansas has snow! I try to entice them (to come out of their heated coop) by moving their treats (BOS) out into their run......... Nuthin' doin'! You'd think that snow was razor blades! Hopefully your girls will find some soft dirt real soon!

Thanks, cugal! Yup, snow is gone, just waiting to be sure the morning lay is done, then I think we'll all spend some quality time outside. Might even hit the 60s today, dare I hope. If only I could teach the chickens to hunt voles, it would be a perfect setup.
