| My potatoes are just starting to show. It is supposed to frost and freeze this weekend. Should I cover them or not? |
Follow-Up Postings:
|
| I would. They may survive a frost, but they will be set back a couple weeks if the above ground growth is killed or badly damaged. |
|
| I keep an old quilt just for covering potatoes in spring. It never fails that they are just up and growing in late April, and we get a serious frost. If they do get nipped back they will regrow, but it's better to preserve the foliage. |

| They seem to grow well if covered more than once in fact I have seem that people keep burying their potatoes as they grow for higher yields. |
