Ol' Paint turned 26 this spring, and she's still a good horse

Years a go, I saw one exactly like this in a rice paddy in Japan.

I haven' used her yet this spring, but when I put my hands on the handles I can feel the little "chop, chop, chops" pulsing, just waiting to be released.

It' been faily dry lately, and with the deep frost we got this winter, the soil looks pretty good. Maybe I' try to get some onion sets and Superior potatoes out this week. But I've been burned before by heavy spring rains, so I'll only till what I intend to plant right now.

(BTW, is gasoline considered organic?)

Honda makes a good engine, don't they?

I have a BCS with the rotary plow. I'm really pleased with it, much prefer it to roto-tilling. Makes superb beds. I even used it this year to make the potato trenches and then cover the seed, and it can hill them later.

Speaking of gasoline, I wish I had the diesel engine version - lasts forever they say. I wouldn't want to have to stay here all winter feeding hay to a mule….

I saw a BCS when I bought the Honda, but it was just tiller (I think you could order implements for it.

They were about the same price, but the Honda has 2 forwward speeds (which about doubles the price.) I got it half off, though, since I lived in TN at the time and after 4 years of drought, the dealer has been sitting on it a long time.

I've kept this tiller so long because I don't want to put out the bucks for a new 2 speeder, and I won't have it any other way.

I guess that was a long while ago; my BCS has 3 speeds.

TN? Was it Earthtools?
