| Ground cherries are subject to all the same causes of blossom-drop as any other member of the Solanaceae family. Excess N fertilizer, dry windy conditions, temperature extremes, high humidity, inconsistent soil moisture levels, root bound in too-small a container, etc. etc. Can't tell if it is in ground or in a containers and you don't indicate your location or even your zone so I can't comment on how air temps may be contributing to the problem or what other contributing factors there may be, You need to provide much more information. | Hi Dave, Its in a container. Temps are very hot and humid where this plant is grown. This plant is grown by my mother in India. But I live in NJ. Will this help? |

| Very hot and humid will easily cause Blossom Drop as the FAQ I linked above explains. And if the container it is in is too small and the plant is root bound in it then that will only make the problem worse. To stop it she has to cut back on any N fertilizer, move it to a cooler location if possible - somewhere where the air temps are below 95 F (35 C) and the air is drier so the pollen will be viable - and possibly transplant it to a larger container where she can better maintain a consistent soil moisture level. Hope this helps. Dave |

| I thought these look more like tomatillos. In which case, another possibility is a lack of pollinators, especially if she lives in a concrete jungle. Are you sure the husks are fruitless? It takes a few days for them to fill out. |

| Appreciate your help Dave. Thanks. |
