We have working at break neck speed to get our raised beds built in our new home and I am afraid our asparagus has just fallen by the way side (we are going to plant them in the ground next to our fence). I have 60 bare root packets sitting in the garage. Am I too late? I have no idea how long the roots (or crowns-they look like a little jumble of roots), will stay viable (bought them this year), the variety is Purple Passion. We live in Bartlett, TN, (just outside of hot humid Memphis) zone 7a or b. Thanks for your advice.
