| I was planting these beet seeds yesterday and checking the spacing on the packet and it said to place them roughly 3" apart in rows 12-18" apart and no thinning would be required. But aren't beets compound seeds and won't there be multiple seedlings all in one spot? I imagine Johnny's knows what they are saying, I'm just curious why these wouldn't need thinning if anyone knows. Happy Easter! |

| I'm not familiar with this cultivar but some beet cultivars have been bred to be monogerm, that is, they have only one embryo per "seed". |

| Oh, maybe that's it, then. Cool, thanks for answering. |
|
| I don't think Touchstone is monogerm. At least I looked it up and there was no mention of that. |
|
| Well, in a week or so I should know whether they are monogerm or not, at least. The mystery continues... |
