It happens every spring

Except in 2012, when it never rained betwwen March and August.

It's mainly why I have only planted half our onions and potatoes, and those are planted on hills (with fungicide and insecticide granules), so they may do okay.

That's our garden up the slope, next to the condos.

I spent the morning potting pepper and tomato seedlings. Now we wait and see what the next month brings.

Yep, every year here, too. You're lucky you have that slope.

Yep, dry ditches are now running rivers and farm fields have geese swimming on them. Spring in Ohio, gotta love it! (Actually, what I love are my Raised Beds that rise above the muck that is my yard!) We haven't planted anything out yet, though. I've been burned before by letting Mother Nature fool me with warmth several weeks before LFD. Good luck with yours!

Wow, green grass! Still looks like early spring here: bare trees, no vegetation, mud, melting snow and decomposing leaves.

"You're lucky you have that slope."

Funny, but I originally placed the garden there because the neighbor offered water for it. It creeps down the slope about a foot a year (from erosion), but I'll be long gone before it reaches the bottom.

The topsoil is good, but the hardpan keeps it soggy, even with the slope. It's a hydrodynamic wonder!

My garden is sited on the low ground, where that standing water is.
