I'm potting up some watermelon seedlings. Do I need to maintain the natural soil level, or can I bury them deeper? There's about 4" of stem showing and they're on their second set of true leaves. Thanks.

I would keep the soil level the same. The only thing I ever plant deeper is tomatoes.

If you take them outside, pot them deeper to keep them from flopping in the wind.

Yeah, seems to be two schools of thought on this one. I might hedge and plant them a little deeper. When I do put them outside, I usually have to peg them down anyway to keep them from flopping in the wind.
