Hey has anyone grown Romanesco, specifically from Renee's Garden Seeds? Reason I specify seed source is that I'm getting conflicting reports when I look around the web. Some say they've gotten vines from Romanesco and some say large bushes, but none say the seed source. It matters to me because I need to know how much room to allot and what shape that room should be. My question, did it grow to a bush or vine? Approximately how large? (please use a unit of measure, ie. feet, or meters) Thanks, Jen

I have not grown Romanesco from Renee's, but I have grown Romanesco. It's the only zucchini I grow and it takes up a lot of space. I somewhat follow square foot gardening spacing and I give Romanesco about 4 square feet, or about .5 square meter. I've never had it vine, it's just a really large bush.

Concur: It is a bush type, but one of the largest zucchini plants. Under favorable conditions it will get 3 feet wide.

Great, bush I can deal with! I've given it plenty of room. Thank you. Jen

I grow it and in my case it has occasionally became a short vine, bush-type but with a 4-5 ft trunk. Most of the time it makes the usual 1-1.5 ft bush trunk.
