| As you can see my spinach on the left has bolted in the hot sun and I'd like to remove it so my tomato in the middle can thrive. Can I simply whack off the plants or do I need to take out the roots? Can I do that without disturbing my tomato roots? My plan is to keep the rainbow chard as is. Thanks. |

| Whack it off at the base, the roots will not re-grow. If by some odd chance they start to, a second whacking will take care of any residual growing energy left in the roots. |
