Okay to transplant asparagus later in the summer?

I have extra asparagus that I was planning to dig to give to a friend this spring, but the late spring and incessant rain has interfered. Now we're both traveling until later in June. Do you think it would be okay to dig up and transplant asparagus in the middle of the summer? I'm assuming that it would live, but perhaps need a season to rest before being harvested again. I also assume they wouldn't look too hot the rest of the year.

These are only three year old plants, but we accidentally ordered 25, so we have way more than we need.

Thanks in advance!

no. first you transplant only in November, or whenever they are fully dormant, second you don't know what you are up against. There are easily 5-10 lbs of roots under each mature asparagus plant. It is one plant per five gallons bucket.
