That's a poor looking plant - long and leggy with huge internode lengths and minimal foliage - starved for light to get that lanky and nutrients to have so little foliage. What did it look like when planted? That light starved? Couldn't it have been planted much deeper?

So tell me about your soil. Is it a container or a bed? What is it filled with? What and how often have you fed it?

Personally I'd pull it and replace it as it will likely never be healthy given its compromised circulatory system. You still have plenty of season left but first you need to solve your soil problems.

The soil looks a bit dry. Give it a good drenching and see what happens.

It's a raised bed we filled with garden soil that was crap. Has no nutrients in it. I added fertilizer but I doubt it was enough. Want to start over but don't want same thing to happen again.

I have very little experience myself (just starting the learning process), but my dad started a new bed with crap soil last year. His garden didn't do anything to speak of and was a waste of time and water. He was disgusted. I would suggest some nutrients be mixed in asap. If his garden is any example, you wont get good results without amending the bed somehow. I cant give any guidance on what to add at this point though.

Have you had the soil tested? That's the best way to find out exactly what, and how much, you need to add.

Add tons of compost before starting over, but do start over asap.

IMO there is no way that plants can get that leggy unless they are reaching for the sun. I'm guessing that they are getting no more than 5 hours of sun per day.

It does look a bit dry.. tomatoes need plenty of water.. the leaves look healthy albeit spaced out.. might try digging it up, cut off all the branches except the top two., dig a trench and plant it laying down with only top sticking out.. the entire stem that is planted will become part of the root structure. don't worry if it is crooked. it will right itself.. but,, if you don't have it in full sunlight,, it continue to get long and lanky.. maters need full sun.. and plenty of H2O
