I am planting Muncher also...already put some in the ground a few weeks ago (4/13) and some more Friday (5/10). I planted a second time because all of my seeds did not germinate so my staggering was not intentional BUT I do know that it is a good way to have fruit all summer. I also planted County Fair and Ashley which are supposed to be disease and pest tolerant. We will see.

I live in South Carolina (Zone 7b) so a bit warmer than your area but dealing with strange cooler weather too. They did take a while to sprout but have taken off since it has warmed up (mid to high 70's during the day and 50's at night).

I have never grown any of these varieties before...hoping I get a decent crop - gotta make pickles!

This is the first year I have tried Muncher; I got a free trial packet in my seed order from Jung. The vines are vigorous and SO FAR this year I have not seen a single cucumber beetle, so I do not know how well it will resist when (not if; I assume they are as inevitable as sunrise!) they arrive... But I am getting more cukes than I ever have gotten from any other variety in 45 years of gardening!! Since it's just hubby & me & he dislikes homemade pickles, I have been giving them away to friends & neighbors like mad even after making a lot of refrigerator pickles for me and for a potluck. We all agree they are the tastiest, mildest cucumber ever!
Our weather has been unusually wet this summer, and we had a few weeks of very high temps (90s), but so far, so good.

Yes, and actually these are what I would call "seconds" as I tend to give away the nicer-looking ones! I have been picking 3-5 nice ones daily from my 4-foot, trellised row. (Probably 6 plants.)
