They grow pretty slow when you are watching them. If a normal modern cultivar 10-14 days from that half inch bud. They are flower heads, so you want to eat them before the flowers open.

Thanks people, so about 10 to 14 days, I am so excited, I kinda hoped for that new's but then didn't like to ask, in case of disappointment, and Dave, I am normally the most patient person you could meet, but after last year, I am willing to admit I was impatient, I am so patient I drive friends mad! even as a child, I will not open presents until the DAY! more fun that way the anticipation, but I with these boys, hadn't a clue, Dad and Pops only did purple sprouting broccoli, and my Dad called what farmerdilla showed brilliantly calibrese, and that is exactly what I asked about, so thanks for the Photo, great info as always, your, clueless of CT :-)

Heather, don't expect broccoli heads that look like THAT!!!!!!
Mine are about 1/2 that size, then I eat the side shoots!

Heather. If you are growing Calabrese or its offsping like DeCicco, be aware that these are more akin to sprouting broccoli.Small main heads and lots of side shoots.
