HELP my seedlings are dying!

This is my first time vegetable gardening. About 3 weeks ago I started some seedlings indoors. Broccoli kale lettuce tomato and cucumbers. Everything seemed to be going well until a few days ago. About half of my to kale and broccoli are dying (or what seems like dying?) most are turning gray and one is turning a yellow. They are in 1-1/2" plastic starting trays. I think I over watered in the beginning but they seemed to be fine. I have been bottom watering for the past week and a half. I don't think I am under or over watering at this point. The tomatoes and cucumbers seem just fine. Couple brown dots on a couple cucumber plants but they look very healthy otherwise. This started about 4-5 days ago and has gotten worse every day. I should add I used some Phc fertilizer in them about a week ago. Did I jump the gun? Could this be why they are dying? If they die is it to late to direct sow in some seeds outside? Help!

RE: HELP my seedlings are dying!

I am sorry you are having trouble, but it is tough starting out, when you haven't seen good (and bad) growth cycles before.

Did you remove the cover after seeds popped up? One problem can be too much humidity and too little light.

Since I don't have grow lights I try to get them by a window as soon as possible. And with the top of I prefer watering with a mister.

This may not help, sorry. Maybe watching some (more) seed starting videos will help.

In terms of how much time you have, have you found a garden calendar (online) for your area. I found one for my zone with nice "do this now" and "you are late" instructions.

Good luck.
