I pretty much compost everything in my garden So I always have random stuff popping up here & there From seeds that survived the winter in my compost pile Anyways At 1st I thought it was a green Zucchini & thought the small Zucchinis where starting to rot & turn yellow I had like 5 or 6 different kinds of Squash growing last year Thinking maybe an open pollinated Yellow x Green cross??? What Say You???

Squash are very promiscuos, especially C. pepo. That looks like a zucchini cross with a yellow squash. With the warts probably a yellow crookneck, but it could be crosses with any C.pepo you grew last year.

If you planted hybrid Zucchini last year and seeds germinate, you can't expect them to be of the same kind - they hybrids, that means the do not inherit parents characteristics. Instead they have characteristics of one of their grandparent... If you add here open pollination between different hybrids... It is pretty much hybrid mess)

farmerdill / galinas Yep pretty much The flash made the Yellower brighter looking The new ones that are growing look the same What Would The Chance Of It Being True To Seed??? I'm guessing from what I had growing

I'd guess the Vegas odds on "true from seed" would be pretty high. Something in the neighborhood of 30:1. But how does it taste? Worth trying? Dave
