Fertilizing Peanuts

Posted by Pd0xGard_ (My Page) on

I just noticed this, my first peanut bloom. I've never been good at fertilizing my plants, so I figured I'd buy a cheap bag of something. I got Jobe's Organic Tomato and Vege mix. 2-7-4. Would this be good to add to my peanuts now? Or should I have already done that? To lazy bother having my soil tested, just wondering if I should work some of this into the soil now around my peanut plants (6), or wait til later? Or not at all now?

Hi.. I guess you can carefully work some in the soil since thats your first flower and there are no peanuts developing... Just be careful of the roots... I usually prep my soil first before I plant.

Since peanuts are legumes, I'm guessig they may not be heavy feeders. So do they need it? I'm not sure.... I just do it anyway..... I do know beans need it when young...
