my vegetable patch looks like a lawn. it's overrun with nut sedge. my question is what do I do with it after pulling it. I know I've brought some home in the past by bringing in leaf mold from the local park. can this be composted without risking replanting it when the compost is used??

No, don't use it in the compost. It spreads too easily.
|
let it dry & burn it?

It's recommended that you just trash it.
