Giant wins my vote of the three because of its size and consistent performance. But all of them are good. Just depends on how you plan to use them. Roasted? The Rosso reds. Stuffed? The giants. Pickled? Rosso and Golden.

Thanks, Dave. I'm really limited on space, just container growing on the patio, so I usually only have room for one sweet and one hot. It needs to do for everything, but generally cooking (mostly sautéing and soups), salads, occasionally stuffing.

this year I grew Giant Marconi, Friarello Di Napalio and Jimmy Nardello varieties, all sweet. they all are doing well, but the Jimmy Nardello are giving me the most peppers and they ripen sooner than the other two. I think the flavor certainly rivals the Giant Marconi, IMHO.

Thanks, wlynnp. I've heard from several people that Jimmy Nardello is the best tasting sweet pepper, but isn't it kind of narrow for stuffing?

ha! yes! but for cooking in general and eating fresh they would be great.
