Asparagus mort

G'day fellow garden geeks,

I put 3 new asparagus crowns in the ground last spring and shortly afterwards they sent up thin little stalks that I let fern out. This year, they haven't done a thing. Just sitting there in the ground. I do believe that I didn't plant them deep enough and they got bitten by the cold - but that's just my theory. Any other ideas? Could they be saved by digging new holes and planting them deeper?

Marc
