using whey to fertilize my potted patio plants

Hi, I just started cheese making last winter and this spring I used the leftover whey in my pots a few months before planting them, now I read you could spay it on leaves which I did but diluted it. However now im begining to worry this could ruin my plants but could it? This is an old picture of my pumpkin plant. It has matured since then. My plants for the most part look good but I dont have fruit on my zuchini yet except little stubs and my eggplant hasnt grown fruit. My tomatos look great and should rippen soon. Mot of it I put in soil prior to planting. I usd whey for various things such as soup, smoothies and sauces, notvas tastey as using milk but good enough. However as I approached spring, hearing whst I did about whey, inwanted to try.

It is difficult to know what to tell you or how to answer your question since the use of whey, in any form, on plants is very unusual.

While it is true that anything sprayed on plant leaves can harm the leaves if it isn't done properly, most would be using standard organic or synthetic products meant for use on plants, not something like whey which has little if any benefits for plants.

So yes, if you are going to use it for some reason do so with care.

I'm not sure...read a bit about it...have frozen jugs of it just to fill freezer space now and again...the pups like it...full of protein.
add to compost and the worm bin in random amounts...
What i've read seems to have many contradictions...
It is healthy waste so i would go ahead and use it as a side dressing.
Not sure about using it for powdery mildew but i often, given the damp weather, get it on some zukes...and would not hesitate using it fi it rears its powdery head come july...
just to give it a go...with other methods.
-not very helpful but do not toss it down the drain...at least compost it...

I would pour it on the compost pile and let the microbes get at it.

You can also bake bread with it, make soup with it. ..

The traditional use of whey was to feed hogs.

The hog manure was then used on the garden as fertilizer.
