Corn tassels browning ripe

Hi, this is my first year growing corn and I'm a little concerned that the silks on my corn are browning but the cob hasn't filled out yet. I've read that it's time to harvest when the silk starts browning AND it has filled out. Any thoughts?

It's getting close to harvest time when the silks turn brown, not the tassels.

That's what I meant actually. Sorry. The silks are browning but cob not filled out yet.

Not even close. The silk will be dry and brown when ripe. You maybe a week away. Sugar Pearl photo SugarPearl3a_zps79d8e8b3.jpg Sugar Pearl photo SugarPearl3_zps3f0e9b37.jpg

Thank you both! Apparently, "browning," really means brown :)
