They must go by another name and "cabbage peas" is just a name someone made up for them. I grow lots of southern pea varieties and I had never heard of them except that many recipes call for mixing southern peas with cabbage so "cabbage peas". :). But Google pulls up several articles and posts by someone trying to find them under that name and all seem to agree that there is nothing going by that name. Southern Exposure, Seed Savers Exchange, Vermont Bean & Seed, or any of the other southern seed suppliers seem to have any knowledge of them under that name. One post describes them as a lime green pea with a darker green eye and several commented that sounds more like one of the broad/flat or lima bean varieties sometimes referred to as southern bean or field bean. Maybe Farmerdill has heard of them and will pick up on your post. Dave

I am in the dark also. I have read the posts noted by Dave. If I had to hazard a guess, maybe one of the Greeneyed peas. Baker Creek offers one.

haven't seen these peas in probably 30 years. they were real popular back in the 60's 70's and 80's in south Alabama and north florida. they are about the physical size of what was called "LADY FINGER". The hull turns almost white when mature. The pea is lime green and the eye is a darker green' GOD BLESS
