I noticed the other week that there were some green things popping up in one place in my bare veggie bed. I thought it was a weed, and didn't go investigate. Yesterday, as I was finally planting my tomato seedlings (late, I know), I finally took a look, since I was going to pull up the "weed"...wouldn't you know, it's a cluster of about 4 eggplant seedlings. I had eggplants there last year, and got really lazy about picking them!

Anyway, can I separate them safely, or should I just thin the cluster out to one? They are VERY close together, so I am skeptical. Thanks!
