| I would like to try overwintering cauliflower, getting the plant to grow sometime in the fall with the hope of it producing a head in the spring. Because of my winters, I would protect the plants in a low tunnel with either row cover, or plastic or both. I had broccoli that did fine all winter just under the row cover.
My question is whether or not it is worth it to purchase an over-wintering variety or just sowing some more standard cauliflower late enough in the season before it forms a head. Any thoughts? |

| I would think you would want to try a variety specifically bred for that type of culture. I know there are European varieties that were developed for this. I don't know if you would find them easily in the U.S., but I'm sure someone sells them -- I don't know who. |

| Territorial seed has a couple I am considering. There are 2 different white ones and a purple one (Purple Cape I think). Before trying the Purple I want to see if it turns green when cooked. |
